TAB Mission Statement
The Rowayton Library Teen Advisory Board was established to increase and enhance young adult programming. TAB members will work, under the direction of the library staff, to plan and present programming for young adults and other groups as needed. The primary responsibility of TAB is to ensure the ongoing development of young adult programs and offer services to attract young adults to the library.
Who are the TAB?

The Teen Advisory Board (TAB) is made up of teens in grades 6-8 from the Rowayton LIbrary area schools.

They volunteer their time at the library by helping maintain the teen area and other popular collections.

They help with programs designed and run by teens.

They are also interested in helping the library determine current teen trends and interests.

What To Do on a Committee

Committee Member:
you may belong to more than one committee
- attend Committee meetings
- attend monthly TAB meetings
- every member has an equal VOTE in determining what is recommended and brought forward to TAB
- every member can help with programs created by TAB

Committee Chairs:
- term - 1 school year (elections held in November)
- reports to TAB recommendations from their Committee
- leads their Committee meetings
- determines their Committee meeting schedule
- prepares the list of their Committee meeting topics to be discussed
- Membership Committee Chair processes membership applications for TABand tracks attendance at TAB meetings
- Newspaper Committee Chair takes minutes at TAB meetings
When does TAB meet?
T.A.B. meets the"teen" Wednesday of each month at 6 pm at the Rowayton Library.
(10/14 meet/greet, 11/18, 12/16, 1/13, no Feb, 3/17, no April, 5/12, 6/16)
What do members of TAB do?
- They advise the Library on teen interests and trends.
- They advise the Library on teen web links and suggest cool prizes for the teen summer reading program.
- TAB members suggest ideas for teen programs and volunteer at the programs.
