NetLibrary has over 700 titles that are compatible with all MP3 players, including iPods and Zunes.

This service is only available through Windows. It will not run on a Mac.
Also, iTunes must be installed on Windows for iPod compatibility

• First time users must create a NetLibrary account.
• Type your Rowayton library card barcode number.
• You will be directed to the NetLibrary site to select a username and password to create an account. 

Search for, check out and download audiobooks using either of two methods:

• Automated download using Media Center, which features one click downloads.
• Manual download using the NetLibrary website and Windows Media Player

• NetLibrary Titles Now Available For Your iPod
• Over 700 titles are now iPod compatible.
• You can search for iPod titles on the NetLibrary site by doing an Advanced search.
  • In the optional search limits section, select eAudiobook in the format.
• Change the drop down selection box from all to MP3.
• Start your search. You should get about 750 titles which you can sort.
• Another way to search for iPod titles is to limit the format to MP3 in the Search box of the Media Center. You will, however, get only 150 titles.

Media Center

The Media Center is an application that you install on your computer to download, listen, and transfer audiobooks to a player.

• Log into your NetLibrary account, review the Media Center installation requirements, and click on "Install Media Center".
• Click "Run" and follow the installation prompts.
• Launch Media Center from your desktop, and use the Browse and Search tabs to explore and preview the audiobook collection.

• Click "Transfer to Computer" to listen on your computer.
• Connect your portable device and click "Transfer to Portable" to listen on your portable device. The Media Center will recognize it and will show the device on the bottom right.

  The details will show the type of download (WMA or MP3) and the type of players that are compatible. The title above is an MP3 file and is compatible with any type of portable player, including the iPod.

  Manual download using Windows Media Player

• Find a title you want to check out and click on “Download this Audiobook.”
• Select the Check Out & Download CD quality link.
• Save the file on your computer.
• Open the file after the download is completed and enter your NetLibrary username and password when prompted.
• You can now transfer your audiobook to a portable device.

• Enjoy your audiobook! It is checked out to you for 21 days.

To Renew

• You must renew prior to the due date.
• Open the Media Center on your computer.
• Click on "My Stuff".
• Then "Checked Out Items".

Titles will remain on your player for 21 days. After 21 days, the file will remain on your player but will not play.

To Remove

• Use the delete function of the player.
