32 Yolks by Eric Ripert is a terrific read. It begins with his unhappy, challenging childhood where only food gave him pleasure. He was close to his mother, who was a great cook but suffered under the hand of a cruel stepfather. Fortunately he eventually found his way to the world of Michelin starred restaurants, where he soldiered through brutally high pressure training and developed the skills that put him at the top of the restaurant world. The book ends with his journey to the United States. Lucky us! (Non-Fiction)
