A Perfect Life

A Perfect Life by Eileen Pollack is about the search for the genetic code to “Valentine’s Chorea” a thinly disguised Huntington’s. Jane Weiss is a researcher at MIT--working long hours in the hopes she will find the genetic marker for the disease that killed her mother, and for which she has a 50% chance of getting as well. Knowing this, she has kept herself from having any romantic entanglements. She has a deep love for her sister Lauren; and they both struggle with the daunting risks of knowing vs. not knowing what the future holds.
