What a lovely film about growing up, facing life’s dangers including the environmental ones, and still pursuing love. And it’s a turtle! Sammy is born on the beach in this colorful animated film, struggles to the sea with his brothers and sisters, falling in love along the way with Shelley. He drifts in the Pacific ocean while he grows up, encounters the usual dangers and joys of the coral reefs, and eventually even interacts with humans and even one of their pets, Fluffy. Delightful, insightful, showing nature vs human development and nature with nurture. Recommended family viewing, especially if you need a trip to the warm ocean climates and cannot get away.
