When his latest outburst goes viral, volatile celebrity chef Easton West (Erik Thomson), having burned all his other bridges, flees back to his hometown in the Adelaide Hills of Australia. Arriving to a dysfunctional family he abandoned 30 years before, Easton is a pariah to his sister (Susan Prior), who resents him for leaving her to deal with their alcoholic father (Peter Carroll) on her own. Only his outspoken 19-year-old niece, pastry wunderkind Diana (Natalie Abbott), shows any interest. Easton realizes that Diana represents everything he is not--young, female, and fresh! And he tries to reinvent himself.
