All Things Cease to Appear

All Things Cease to Appear by Elizabeth Brundage is spine tingling and masterful. The setting is upstate New York, where the Carr’s have recently moved for his teaching job. The house they buy is haunted by sadness, tragedy and possibly a ghost. Their marriage is tenuous at best. All these factors combine in a tragic killing that reverberates down the generations. There are questions about guilt and innocence, but in the end this is a disturbing portrait of a psychopath. Gone Girl fans will relish this well written addition to the genre.
