American Heiress by Jeffrey Toobin is the well-researched saga of Patricia Hearst, who was born with a silver spoon and morphed into a domestic terrorist after being kidnapped by the Symbionese Liberation Army. All the details of her kidnapping and subsequent actions are laid out in this fascinating book. As we all know she was ultimately caught and jailed for a few years, then pardoned by President Jimmy Carter. This is also a fascinating story of the 1970’s.
