Bomber’s Moon by Archer Mayor is a terrific addition to the Joe Gunther series. Set in southern VT, the cast of well-developed characters is wide-ranging, original and supporting of interwoven storylines. Joe Gunther is still very much the main character but he is joined by a reporter and a private investigator, both female, all of whom are trying to solve a series of murders that started with the killing of a small-time drug dealer. A strong sense of place has always anchored this series, and as the pages turn the dark side of VT is unveiled.
