Class by Lucinda Rosenfeld is an amusing send-up of present-day Brooklyn and liberal do-gooders. Karen, her husband Matt and daughter Ruby are residents of Cortland Park and go to the local, diverse, public elementary school. This satire is firmly grounded in reality. Karen does her best to be supportive of their school but finds herself caught up in the hyper-competitive race to the top. As it turns out there isn’t much a lot of parents won’t do or say to make sure their children are first among equals. Lots of laughs out loud moments leaven the more serious look at what is fair and what is not.
