DEAR WHITE PEOPLE – Movie –R – Justin Simien’s first feature film, is a clever campus comedy that juggles a handful of hot potatoes — race, sex, privilege, power — with elegant agility and only an occasional fumble. Basically the story of the lives of four black students at an Ivy League college, with campus radio broadcasts addressed to ‘dear white people’ and viral Internet videos made by student named Samantha White (Tessa Thompson).  Sam, as she is called, uses her broadcast/videos to call out the hypocrisies, blind spots and micro-aggressions that African-Americans experience in their daily encounters with well-meaning Caucasians.
