I Won a What? by Audrey Vernick, illustrated by Robert Neubecker is a neat twist on winning a goldfish in a bowl. A young boy goes to the county fair where his parents have promised him he can keep what he wins at the goldfish toss. When he wins a whale named Nuncio the fun begins. His practical parents are not sure this will work out but the book cleverly illustrates how a whale can be integrated into the household routine. The ending is very sweet.
