Ill Will

Ill Will by Dan Chaon can be read for terrific prose, chilling and tangled timelines and expert character development. The plot centers on two crimes decades apart and is narrated via multiple points of view. The power of memory and the ability of people to delude themselves paces the book. Will the past overthrow the present? How much danger can build up before it’s recognized? The central character is a psychologist who survived a very dark childhood. His baggage makes him too easily led, putting everyone around him in danger.
