Imagine Me Gone

Imagine Me Gone by Adam Haslett is beautiful and heartbreaking. The book details a family grappling with mental illness through the decades, beginning with the parents’ marriage. There are some laugh out loud moments but it’s mostly a poignant, remarkable evocation of the family’s trauma. It is perfectly told in five very realistic, alternating voices. It’s a compelling look at the ties that bind and the results of choices made out of love.
