This is a mystery set post WWII England, in 1953. This small town vicarage of Grantchester, just outside Cambridge, where Sidney Chambers, the young and single clergyman (James Norton) is where he tends to his flock. The story lines range into London and neighboring towns at times, but mainly are concerned with deaths that the vicar himself finds suspicious. Working closely with the local overworked Detective Inspector Geordie Keating (Robson Green), Sidney becomes involved in the dangerous world surrounding murders, lies and betrayals. Sidney is a jazz aficionado with quite the personal collection and deeply appreciative of the quiet country parish especially after his service in the war. People will confide to a priest, rather than to the police. Wonderful new series.
