My Favorite Pets by Jeanne Birdsall, illustrated by Harry Bliss, is very funny. Gus is writing a report for Ms. Smolinski about the seventeen sheep that cavort at his house. It would be hard to find a more expressive group of sheep, all of whom seem happy to aid and abet in all manner of shenanigans. Gus has a younger brother who is often the brunt of the pranks, and long suffering parents whose house takes quite a beating from the hungry, messy sheep. This is great entertainment for all.
