NARCOS – SERIES Season 1 (NR)--In Spanish; the term "narco" is an abbreviation of the word "narcotraficante" (drug trafficker).  Before this usage, in the United States, the term "narc" (or "narco") referred to a specialist officer of a narcotics police force, such as a DEA agent.Set and filmed in Colombia, this series follows the true-life story of the rise of international cocaine cartels specifically notorious drug kingpin Pablo Escobar (Wagner Moura), who became a billionaire through the distribution of cocaine as well as the leader of the Medellin Cartel. Also focusing on Escobar’s interactions with other drug lords, such as Jorge and Pablo Ochoa of the Medillin Cartel, DEA agents, Steve Murphy (Boyd Holbrook) and Javier Pena (Pedro Pasqual), and various opposition entities. This is about the battle waged by law enforcement to stop the cartels.
