Princess Pistachio

Princess Pistachio by Marie Louise Gay follows the trials and tribulations of Pistachio, marooned at 23 Maple St. with parents and younger sister Penny, instead of in the castle of her royal parents. She is convinced she was meant to be a princess and when a crown arrives on her birthday she is on her way. Her determination to be treated as royalty get short shrift from her family members, including the family hound. This early reader is highly entertaining and humorous, and even manages to include a few subtle messages about what it means to be part of a family. (Early-Reader)
