Raymie Nightingale by Kate DiCamillo revolves around Raymie’s plan to win the Little Miss Central Florida Tire competition in the hope it will lure her father (who ran off with the dental hygienist) back home. Naturally the path to victory is not easy or straight. She has to figure out how to manage a bevy of differing personalities initially working at cross purposes. Most importantly she has to do a good deed. This is a warm book about the sometimes challenging path to true friendship.
