School’s First Day of School by Adam Rex, illustrated by Christian Robinson, supposes that the school itself is a little concerned about the first day. Will the children like the building? Treat it well? Have fun and learn a lot? The school takes its responsibilities very seriously. The block collage and paintings in primary colors make for a very cheery book that will delight young students who can step into school’s shoes and realize everyone is a bit nervous at the beginning of the year.
