Alice Howland (Julianne Moore) is a renowned linguistics professor at Columbia University who starts to forget words. Happily married to a doctor (Alec Baldwin), with three grown children, (Kristen Stewart, Kate Bosworth, and Hunter Parrish) when she receives a diagnosis of Early-Onset Alzheimer's disease, Alice and her family find their bonds thoroughly tested. Her struggle to stay connected to who she once was is frightening, heartbreaking, but also inspiring. This is a movie that places a straight forward mostly unemotional eye and ear to a disease that most people fear, showing possibilities’ in life.
