Sunrise Highway by Peter Blauner is thrilling. Police search for a brutal serial killer who has been at large for decades because no one connected the dots of the various murders. It is superbly tense, even with the intentional reveals. It feels very realistic; the author has captured cop dialogue and the Long Island atmosphere extraordinarily well. It takes place over a forty year period, with sinister connections among the powerful that may have allowed a killer to go free. The heroine is a Latina detective who risks everything to see justice served.
