The Body Lies

The Body Lies by Jo Baker is fiendishly clever. The main character is a professor who has moved to a rural university to teach writing after a scary attack when she lived in London left her a bundle of nerves. Her husband has stayed in London but comes up on the weekends. Her creative writing class harbors a budding author whose work is dangerously close to the truth of some terrible events. The suspense is ratcheted up quickly and the creepy atmosphere between fictional essays and reality blurs the line. It’s very suspenseful.
