The Children

The Children by Ann Leary is about the branches of a wealthy CT family who are toting around a fair amount of baggage. Interactions between the children and step children generate cracks in the family that grow hugely when they all gather to plan a wedding at the big house. There is nothing like a future in law to unbalance delicate chemistry and traditional ways of relating! One of the main narrators writes a “mommy blog” that is a great source of comedy.
