The Enigma Game by Elizabeth Wein is an outstanding historical thriller, a prequel to Code Name Verity. Set in rural Scotland in the early days of WWII it has an ensemble cast. The tension builds as a young girl works to untangle the Enigma machine and pilots on both sides of the conflict meet. Lots of historical detail and excellent character development make for a real page-turner. (Young Adult)
