The Hen Who Sailed Around the World

The Hen Who Sailed Around the World is a remarkable true story by Guirec Soudee. He set off to sail from France through the Northwest Passage and when he got to the Canary Islands he acquired Monique--a chicken who would accompany him the rest of the way. Monique was a spirited sailor, eager for new experiences and insistent on being "on deck." She provided both comic companies on the 17,500-mile voyage and 1,040 eggs. Terrific color photographs accompany the text. (Non-Fiction)
