THE MAKING OF A LADY– Movie –(PG) –- PBS , This is the story of the educated but penniless Emily (Lydia Wilson). As a lady’s companion for Lady Maria (Joanna Lumley), she meets her employer’s wealthy widower nephew, Lord James Walderhurst (Linus Roach), soon to retire from the military. Accepting his practical marriage proposal, Emily acquires fine clothing and moves to Walderhurst, an isolated country mansion and marries.  Emily is lonely after Lord James must leave to rejoin his regiment in India during a crisis. When Walderhurst’s nephew Alec Osborn (James D’Arcy) and his glamorous wife, Hester (Hasina Haque) come to visit and then stay she finds solace at first. As they increasingly control the household, she begins to fear for her life. Will Walderhust return in time to save her?
