The Midnight Hour

The Midnight Hour by Elly Griffiths is a mystery with a vivid historical setting: 1960s Brighton, England amid a colorful crowd of entertainers. A local theater impresario is found murdered and his wife, a former showgirl, is immediately suspected, not least because she’s been reading “suspicious” feminist literature. But, more potential killers emerge out of the rich woodwork of the theatrical world and it’s up to private detective team Emma Holmes and Sam Collins to sort the mystery out. This is the sixth in Griffith’s Brighton mysteries series, but it’s still very accessible for newcomers to the series.
