The Night Fire by Michael Connelly is another winner from this author of expert police procedurals. He never seems to run out of original plots, complicated characters and as always, a searing look at Los Angeles--the city that always disappoints Harry Bosch. Renee Ballard is the LAPD cop who returns to assist Harry on a cold case while he recovers from knee surgery. He's been aging in his books so he is more physically limited each time. He has his hands on a murder book from his original mentor and the hunt is on. As always, highly recommended.
