The Oxford Inheritance

The Oxford Inheritance by Ann McDonald centers on creepy doings in present day Oxford, which hark back to Sir Walter Raleigh’s day and the formation of a college with dark intentions. The fantastical elements are kept believable as the heroine digs for the truth about her mother’s time there. The sense of place is very strong and supports the eerie events that combine historic, gothic twists with present day chicanery and murder. The characters are well drawn and believable.
