There’s a Dragon in My Dinner by Tom Nicoll, illustrated by Sarah Horne starts innocently enough with an order of Chinese take--out. A surprising lifelike toy finds its way into Eric's pants pocket and changes his life. Pan the mini dragon is talented at video games, weeding, flame burping, and advice-giving. Belatedly Eric reads they are very stubborn and do not make good pets. They certainly make interesting friends. This is the beguiling first in a new early chapter book series. You can follow it with There’s a Dragon in My Backpack.
