White God- Movie-Foreign – R – Filmed in Hungary, this could be a past day, a present day or a futuristic film about canine power. Young Lili must move to live with her father when her mother must go to Australia for 3 months. Thirteen-year-old Lili (Zsofia Psotta) fights to protect her beloved dog Hagen, a mixed breed. These dogs are deemed unfit by The State, requiring a special registration and fees, and usually ending up in the State run pound. She is devastated when her father eventually sets Hagen free on the streets. Meanwhile, Hagan begins a journey as a street dog with all the other unwanted, unloved and so-called unfit dogs. Hagen, the one-time house-pet who has learned all too well from his Masters in his journey through the streets and animal control centers that man is not always dog's best friend. Still innocently believing love can conquer any difficulty, Lili sets out to find her dog and save him. Some cruel and some gruesome scenes. All the "extra dogs" street dogs themselves were placed in homes at the end of the filming. Good film for animal lovers.
