- Use one of our public computers (on a first come, first served basis)
- We are now back to normal (fall) hours:
- Monday – 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
- Tuesday – 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
- Wednesday – 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

- Please note:
- Masks are now optional for all visitors of the library but we do ask that you please do your best to remain aware of your closeness to other patrons and library staff while inside the library. Six feet of distance is preferred at all times when possible.
- We ask that children under the age of 12 remain with a caregiver at all times.
- We also ask that you that leave any furry family members outside or at home.
- We are still ensuring that hand sanitizer is always available.
Returning Library Materials
Our outdoor drop box is open 24/7 and materials may now be returned inside the library.
The book drop is emptied 15 minutes prior to the library's opening each day and the materials are no longer quarantined.
Updates to Library Takeout
You can still reserve materials online, upon which time we’ll pull them for you and call you when they’re ready for you to come pick them up inside the library, and take them home. The revised steps and guidelines for Library Takeout are:
- First, you log in to your account online. Go to the account log in page via our website here.
- If you've never logged into your account before, set your password here. If you haven't set your username yet, use the 14-digit barcode number located on the back of your library card.
- If you don't have your library card number and can't find your library card, call us at 203-838-5038 or email us at library@rowayton.org and we can give it to you over the phone.
- If you've never logged into your account before, set your password here. If you haven't set your username yet, use the 14-digit barcode number located on the back of your library card.
- Then, put the items that you want on hold.

- You are limited to 10 holds per library account.
- After you've placed your holds, wait for a phone call notification.
- When your hold is ready for pickup, you will receive a phone notification.
- Library staff will have already checked out your items, placed them in a new paper bag, and have them listed alphabetically on the table across from the entrance to the children's room inside the library.
- Pick Up Your Items in the Library
- You will have three days to pick up your materials unless you indicate a specific day that you’ll be available to pick up your holds, in accordance with the aforementioned Limited Access hours.
- Once you enter the library, go to the table across from the children's room in the library, grab your bag of holds, and you're good to go!
We strive to make sure to continue to do what we can to provide you and our community with the best service possible while making sure to keep the health and safety of both you, our patrons, and us, your library staff, our top priority.
Library staff continues to work with extra precautions in place to be both effective and safe while also continuing to work with limited staff in the building at one time. We ask that you remain patient as we all navigate this "new normal" together.
Continue to stay safe and be well! We look forward to seeing you!
