Build a Bird Feeder

Love watching birds through the window or want to help steer them away from your garden? Then this if a craft for you! Children ages 2 to 6 and their caregivers are invited to come to the library to create a DIY bird feeder out of popsicle sticks! Paint and glue will be involved so dress for mess!

Library Giving Day 2024

#LibraryGivingDay is a one-day fundraising event with the goal of encouraging people who depend on and enjoy public libraries to donate to their individual library system. And in turn, that support will go toward the incredible programs, services and materials provided by local libraries all over the country.

Today is the sixth annual Library Giving Day—an event that gives library lovers like you a chance to elevate and support us.

Starting Tuesday, September 5, Rowayton Library resumes our regular hours of operation:

Mondays: 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Tuesdays: 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Wednesdays: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Thursdays: 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Fridays: 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Saturdays: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Sundays: 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Rowayton Library’s 14th Annual Daughters’ Ball

Join us for an enchanted afternoon of ice castles and snowflakes! This year, we are casting a Frozen-themed spell over our annual event. This always sold-out fundraiser promises lasting, unforgettable memories and fun for daughters and their guardians. We look forward to seeing you!

Memorial Day Parade

Line up with the Rowayton Library at the Rowayton Community Center at 11:50 a.m.

Kids of all ages and their caregivers can join the Library Board of Trustees to help celebrate our town spirit at the annual Memorial Day Parade!

After the parade, join fellow residents at Veterans’ Cannon to honor those who died in their service to our country.

Then stroll on over to the Fire House for hot dogs and soda, hosted by our local firefighters and their families.

Pi(e) Day Celebration Returns

Celebrate 3.14 by sampling a slice or two and/or by submitting a pie to our Pi(e) Day Contest. Pie makers of all ages are invited to drop off their signature pie between 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. We love pie but will also accept any round food submissions (for example: giant cookie, cake, etc.). There are three age categories: 12 and under, 13 to 19 (teens), and adult.

Sweet, savory, cream, meringue, fruit, chocolate, cheese, vegetable, meat and more will be accepted. Please have the name of the pie, contact info, and category available at drop off.

The community and pie makers are invited to come back to the library to have some pie from 3:30 to 5 p.m. and vote on their favorite! The winners of each age category will receive a free copy of our Rowaytonopoly board game!

Mike Barbis Santa Toy Drive Stop

Coordinated by the Rowayton Civic Association and Rowayton Fire Department

Santa will be making his annual visit to Rowayton aboard his big red fire engine sleigh today! Rowayton Library is a stop on the Mike Barbis Santa Toy Drive. Families with kids of all ages are invited to come to the library and color some festive bookmarks, listen to holiday music, and sip on some hot cocoa while we wait for Santa! He will arrive at approximately 1:30 p.m.

Residents can drop off toys at the fire department from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. The Rowayton fire fighters will be donating gifts to The Carver Center’s holiday party.

We look forward to seeing you at the Rowayton Library’s Santa Run Stop!

She co-founded  a company that helps leaders put the ideas in her books into practice. Kim was a CEO coach at Dropbox, Qualtrics, Twitter, and other tech companies. She was a member of the faculty at Apple University and before that led AdSense, YouTube, and DoubleClick teams at Google. Earlier in her career she was an analyst at the Soviet Companies Fund, started a diamond cutting factory in Moscow, and was director of operations of a pediatric clinic in Kosovo. She lives with her family in Silicon Valley.

Women and Money Series: How to Make Sense of Today’s Financial Markets

When it comes to the financial and real estate markets, people aren’t always as rational as you would think. Behavioral finance experts have been studying the not-so-smart decisions people make. We will reveal the fears, misperceptions and emotional needs people have that sabotage their investment and home sale returns.

Join us for this monthly roundtable for women on money led by financial professionals Julia Strayer and Liz Maccarone. This series’ discussion will focus on how to make sense of today’s financial markets, is open to women with any level of financial knowledge, and is an ongoing informational gathering to learn and share.

Liz values the importance of establishing and cultivating relationships with families including the next generation. Liz graduated from Fairfield University with a dual bachelor’s degree in Finance and Marketing. She began her career working at a boutique investment firm as a Business Development Associate, specializing in commodities and futures trading.

Great Decisions is America’s largest discussion program on world affairs and created by the Foreign Policy Association.
